Utah Jazz vs Dallas Mavericks

Tonight the Dallas Mavericks (10-16) travel to the Delta Center to face the Utah Jazz (9-15). Both teams come into this after bleak starts to the season, but will see this as an opportunity to pick up a win.

Despite being strong on the boards, Utah hold the 2nd worst defence in the league, with opponents averaging 125.8 PPG. However they do have some talented players to be excited about on the offensive end. Lauri Markkanen being the standout, averaging 27.6 PPG enough to break into the top 10. Young guard Keyonte George has also shown promise, averaging 22.9 PPG and a little under 7 assists per game.

The Mavericks enter this match on a run of form. They have won five of their last six matches and are showing some positive signs. Anthony Davis has averaged a double-double in those matches, with 20.8 points & 12 rebounds per game in December. Utah allow 24.8 PPG to small forwards so far this season, which is good news for rookie Cooper Flagg who already averages 17.5 PPG.

Davis has been confirmed out due to left calf contusion. Dereck Lively II is also out. Walker Kessler, Georges Niang, & Jusuf Nurkic are the noticeable absences for Utah tonight.

Key Markets:

  • Dallas Mavericks +1.5 pts (-110), Utah Jazz -1.5 pts (-110)
  • Dallas Mavericks ML (+100), Utah Jazz ML (-120)
  • Over 241.5 pts (-110), Under 241.t pts (-110)

Betting Tip:

1u: Utah Jazz ML (-110)

Utah Jazz have a strong record against teams seeded 9th-14th. Despite having a really poor defensive record, they should get plenty of second chance opportunities tonight with a lack of presence for Dallas.
