Match 1: Iga Świątek vs Madison Keys
The first match of the WTA finals in Riyadh. One that on paper, looks like it should be a comfortable win for the world number 2. Iga Swiatek has been consistently good all season (again). Winning 3 singles titles this season, she was also able to cap off a first Wimbledon title. Defeating world number 4 Amanda Anisimova 6-0 6-0.
However there has looked to be some chinks in Swiatek’s armour in recent times and Madison Keys comes into this with nothing really to lose. After an incredible start to the season winning the Australian Open slam, she crashed out early in both Wimbledon (R32) and her home slam the US Open (R128).

We are going with the stats on this one. Keys has consistently reached better levels of performance against the world’s best and there’s no reason for us to doubt she can’t do it again in Riyadh.
